Tips for Integration
One of the most crucial parts of our healing journey
During the time in between bodywork sessions, we go through an integration period.
We’ve opened up some things that we may or may not have touched before, they come to the surface and sometimes it can be a bit dismantling for our identity.
Emotions we have clung to for a really long period of our lives that we identify with, or we may be becoming aware of where things that we are working through show, up in the various aspects of our life.
Often it does show up in more place than one and it can feel intense, we need to nurture ourselves a bit more, nourish ourselves a bit more.
Make sure that we are allowing time to rest and reflect perhaps to be a bit more inward, so that we can be with our own thoughts.
Allow our centre to recalibrate our vibration, or our core to shift and to trust our insights and intuition in terms of what the next best steps are to take.
Knowing that this time, if we're feeling like we're in the darkness for a bit, that it's okay to sit with that yet also being aware of victimhood, and falling into sort of a freeze response where we start to not take any action.
Some tips when we are in this place would be to:
● Spend time alone
● Make time for self care
● Eat nourishing foods and hydrate
● Be aware of our environment
● Move our body
● Spend time in nature
● Do breath work or meditation
● Get lots of sleep and rest
● Journal
● Listen to podcasts or music that helps us
● Go for a beach walk and go for a beach swim
● Cold plunges and/or saunas
● Hot showers or hot baths
● Spending time with loved ones and friends who understand us and who we can openly connect with without feeling judgment
● Reading a book
● Taking it slow
● Setting new boundaries to allow ourselves more space and perhaps dropping some of our to do list
● Really looking through things that are important and urgent, and perhaps putting aside some of the things that aren't so important or urgent for the time being.
Trusting that this is a period in time and that it will shift.
After receiving Maori healing sessions, it usually would take the average person a week or potentially two weeks to feel more grounded in our clearing and activations. In come cases it can take months.
Yet everyone it's different.
Some people feel that straight away depending on whether the layer we touched was something new, in terms of like an old trauma or an old belief that is really deep within the system.
Or if we are touching a layer of something that's not so connected to us then our integration phase can potentially be a bit shorter.
Integration is a piece that we often skip over which is crucial to our healing journey, it is allowing a process of the shifts to sink in and to be embodied. If we continue to acquire information or healing yet we are feeling stuck in the same cycles, perhaps this is something that we need to spend more time considering.
